GEO Tactics for CAM: Leverage Reddit, Quora & Wikipedia for AI Visibility

One of the challenges with GEO is that it doesn’t always give you clear, direct feedback the way SEO or ads do. You can’t log into a dashboard and see exactly how many times your Reddit post was cited by an AI tool. Still, there are ways to measure the impact of your efforts and track whether your work is paying off.

Watch for AI Mentions

Start by testing the waters yourself. Ask tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google’s AI Overviews common HOA-related questions. Do you see references to Reddit, Quora, Wikipedia, or YouTube threads you’ve contributed to? While it’s not a perfect measure, it can give you an early sense of visibility.

Track Referral Traffic

If you occasionally include links back to your website or content, use analytics tools to see whether traffic is coming from Quora, Reddit, or YouTube. Even if AI doesn’t cite you directly, curious readers might click through.

Monitor Engagement on the Platforms

Look at upvotes, comments, and views. These signals tell you whether your contributions are resonating with human audiences — which often goes hand in hand with being picked up by AI.

Listen for Prospect Feedback

Sometimes the best measure is anecdotal. If prospects mention finding your answer on Quora or watching your video on YouTube, that’s a strong sign your off-site GEO is working.

Measure Indirect Authority

Even if you can’t track every citation, you’ll notice indirect benefits over time:

  • More people recognizing your firm’s name.
  • Easier sales conversations because prospects already see you as knowledgeable.
  • Stronger credibility when your team engages with HOA boards.

The point isn’t to track every click — it’s to build momentum and visibility in spaces AI leans on. Over time, your consistency across these platforms creates a footprint that’s hard for competitors to erase.

And if your results don’t seem obvious right away, that doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

GEO is still new, and not every contribution will show immediate returns. What matters most is consistency, testing, and patience. In the next lesson, we’ll look more closely at why this method isn’t a guarantee — and how to keep your expectations realistic while still making progress.
