GEO Roadmap — Balancing Your Effort
You’ve covered a lot in this course. We started with the idea of GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and why it matters for CAM firms, then looked at the specific platforms AI leans on most:
- Reddit — real-world conversations that give AI plain-language explanations.
- Quora — structured Q&A that makes answers easy to reuse.
- Wikipedia — neutral, high-authority content that shapes how CAM is defined.
- YouTube — a bonus platform where video clips often appear in Google’s AI Overviews.
Each of these plays a different role in your GEO strategy. Reddit and Quora are fast and flexible, Wikipedia is slow but powerful, and YouTube adds credibility through video when you have the capacity.
Now comes the important question: how do you balance your effort? Not every CAM firm has the time or resources to dive into all four at once. A roadmap helps you focus where you’ll see the biggest return without spreading yourself too thin.
Start with the Low-Hanging Fruit
Reddit and Quora are the quickest wins. You can start answering questions right away, and just one or two thoughtful posts per week can build a foundation of visibility.
Add in Longer-Term Plays
Wikipedia requires patience and neutrality, but its authority is unmatched. Contributing to industry-level pages over time builds credibility that AI and humans both notice.
Use Video If You Have the Capacity
YouTube takes more effort but delivers strong visibility. If you already produce content like webinars or training videos, repurpose them. If not, add YouTube later, once you’ve built consistency on text-based platforms.
Balance Consistency with Realism
It’s better to post regularly on one or two platforms than to scatter your energy across all of them. Pick the channels that feel most natural, then expand once your process is sustainable.
By recapping what you’ve learned and mapping your effort, you can see how these platforms fit together without feeling overwhelmed. GEO isn’t about doing everything at once — it’s about choosing the right mix for your firm and sticking with it long enough to see results.
